Crease-resistant and buildable, our loose powder eyeshadows offer versatile application—from soft and natural to bold and defined. They can be applied dry for a subtle shimmer or water-activated for intensified pigment and extended wear with supreme blendability.
Application Instructions
Water-activated eyeshadow, what does that mean? Our unique eyeshadow formulation lends two application options, loose powder or cream.
As a loose powder, our formulation offers a light application with beautiful, light-reflecting shimmer. The water-activated, cream formulation offers increased pigmented, long-lasting wear and supreme bendability. Both are crease-resistant, buildable, and boast a wonderfully simple formulation, achieving pigment only using safe and simple mica, non-nano zinc oxide, and activated charcoal.
To water-activate, simply moisten an eyeshadow brush with water (a toner is not recommended in substitution here). Wipe the excess water from the brush onto the back of your hand. Dip the eyeshadow brush into the loose powder eyeshadow and create a thick paste, i prefer to use the back of my hand here as well and apply to the eyelid in the desired eyeshadow application shape. Allow the paste to dry down while completing the rest of your makeup application. Once dry, blend out the outer edge with a blending eyeshadow brush - this step often reveals a lighter, shimmer layer, often applied separately as transition shade – completing your eye look in moments with just one eyeshadow.
Tip: if using oil-based or glycerin-based skin care around the eye area, blot excess oil from eye lid prior to application using an oil blotting sheet or separating the ply of one square of toilet paper. These hydrating and moisturizing products are fantastic for your skin. However, they will prevent your eye product from drying down entirely, allowing product to build up in your eyelid creases.
<h2>How To Pick A Color To Suit Your Eye Color<h2>
There are two main factors to consider, the complimentary color and the analogous colors to your eye color. Complimentary colors are colors that are directly across from one another on the color wheel. Analogous colors are colors that are placed next to each other on the color wheel.
Blue and gray eye's complimentary color is orange, and analogous colors are green, blue, and purple. I would recommend the Water-activated Loose Powder Eyeshadow in Terra Cotta or Lilac.
Green and hazel eye's complimentary color is red, and analogous colors are yellow, green, and blue. I would recommend the loose powder eyeshadow in berry. Although hazel eyes often have a beautiful golden ring or flecks of gold in the iris, in which case I would also recommend the Water-activated Loose Powder Shimmer Eyeshadow in Honey.
Brown and amber eye's range is a bit larger as they are a mix of the color’s blue and orange. The complimentary color is a green-blue base, and the analogous colors are a red-orange base and all shades of brown. I would recommend the Water-activated Loose Powder Eyeshadow in Terra Cotta, Berry, Espresso, or Taupe, and Honey, again, if you have a golden ring or flecks of gold in the iris.
